Privacy Policy

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how the iOS app Sokdak (the "app") handles your information. The app converts speech to text and inserts it at your keyboard cursor.

It also covers this website, sokdak.xyz (the "site"). Sections 2 through 6 are about the app; section 7 is about the site.

2. Recording and transmission

Only the stretch between pressing Start and pressing Stop on the keyboard is recorded. While idle, the microphone input is muted and no audio is stored.

The recorded audio file is sent to the transcription provider you chose in Settings, where it is converted to text. The available providers are:

• Groq (default)
• OpenAI
• Mistral
• ElevenLabs
• An OpenAI-compatible server whose address you enter yourself

How that audio is processed and retained once it reaches a provider is governed by that provider's own privacy policy. The app developer is not involved in that processing and has no access to it. Please review your chosen provider's policy before use.

The audio file is deleted from the device once transcription finishes.

3. API keys

The API key you enter is stored in the device's iOS Keychain. It is used only to authenticate with the provider you chose, and it is never sent to any third party, including the developer.

Deleting the app removes the stored key with it.

4. Your dictations

Transcribed text is inserted at your cursor and also kept only on your device so you can reuse it later. It lives in the storage area the app and keyboard share (App Group) and is never sent to any server.

• The most recent 100 are kept; older ones are dropped automatically.
• You can delete individual entries or clear all of them at once.
• Deleting the app removes them with it.
• Nothing in this list leaves your device. What does leave it is the audio sent to your chosen provider for transcription (section 2) and, in the ad-supported version, the ad requests AdMob makes (section 6).

5. Keyboard Full Access

The Sokdak keyboard requires iOS's Allow Full Access permission. This permission is what lets the keyboard extension exchange transcription results with the app. The app does not use this permission to collect what you type or send it elsewhere.

6. Advertising

In the ad-supported version, ads are shown through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect information such as device identifiers to deliver ads and measure their performance.

• Ads appear only in the app itself — never in the keyboard or a widget.
• Tracking for personalized ads relies on iOS's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent. Every feature of the app works the same whether or not you consent.
• Consent is managed through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), and you can change your choice anytime in the app's settings.
• An in-app purchase called Remove Ads ($9.99 once — not a subscription) turns ads off for good. Whether you've purchased it is recorded only on your device.

7. Website analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. It exists to improve the site, not to build a profile of you.

• Collected: pages viewed, the link that referred you, approximate region, browser and device type, and clicks on things like the support address or the language switch.
• Not collected: your name, your email, or anything you type. The site has no login and no forms.
• Advertising signals are turned off. Nothing measured here is used for ad targeting or remarketing.
• Google Analytics stores a cookie in your browser so that repeat visits are not counted as new ones.

You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking the script. Nothing on this site needs it to work.

This section is about the website only. Installing the app is a separate matter and is covered by the sections above.

8. Payments

In-app purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. The developer does not collect or store your payment details.

9. Children's privacy

Sokdak is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Your rights

Because the app does not store personal information on the developer's side, there is no separate process for requesting access, correction, or deletion. The API key and settings stored on your device are all removed when you delete the app. To exercise rights over data sent to a transcription provider, please contact that provider directly.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated text and its effective date will be posted on this page. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
